Famille Bamileke of Oklahoma City Association (FABOCA) is a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Oklahoma. It is organized and operated exclusively for public and charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code.

About CAMEROON

Cameroon (/ˌkæməˈruːn/; French: Cameroun), officially the Republic of Cameroon (French: République du Cameroun), is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west. Cameroon's coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. French and English are the official languages of Cameroon.

About BAMILEKE PEOPLE

The Bamileke (French Bamiléké) are a collection of Semi-Bantou (or Grassfields Bantu) ethnic groups most highly concentrated in the western highlands of Cameroon's West region. The Bamileke divide themselves into over 100 individual groups, each under the rule of a Cheif, Fon or Fô. Nonetheless, all of these groups are related historically, culturally, and linguistically. The Bamileke speak a number of related tongues from the Bantoid branch of the Niger-Congo language family.

About OUR ASSOCIATION - FABOCA

The FABOCA mission is work on behalf of its members to:

  • Provide comprehensive services and support to the Cameroonian community in Oklahoma City area and people from educationally and economically disadvantaged families in Cameroon. 

The FABOCA immediate objectives on behalf of its members are to:

  • Assist in social, economic, and professional integration of Bamileke residing in Oklahoma City area and to promote their well-being in the Oklahoman and American societies.
  • Preserve, promote and share the culture and traditions of Bamileke.
  • Create a forum where all Bamileke, residing, arriving, visiting or in transit in Oklahoma City area, can meet, acquaint, socialize and help one another.
  • Create and stimulate members' interest in active participation in collective actions of development.
  • Create and maintain relations with other Associations, Corporations, Foundations, public or private bodies, in order to mobilize resources to help attain his objectives.

With FABOCA behind you, your voice and concerns will be heard.
